STYLE CRUSH : MISS SHALLY :)

So, i am really excited about today's style crush feature,I am sure you would be too when your done with this post and visiting her blog.
Do you guys know anyone who just seems to get it right with their appearance and do so effortlessly? That is how i percieve Shally's style. Always on point with the right amount and mix of accessories, never too much. Okay I will just shut up now and let you guys enjoy.
So here is what Shally had to say about style  :

Peter Pan collars are trending this season and I personally love the fact that it gives a dainty, feminine look to one's outfit. 60's inspired but so very stylish. Whatever look you want to create, you can with this collar. From sophisticated glam to laid back and geeky.

It was a fun Saturday...

So I got a call from my cousin inviting me for a birthday party. I was so excited. I mean here I was lying down on my bed and wondering what a boring Saturday I was about to have.
I started to think of what to wear ( this can be very distressing especially when you have limited time to spare) .I was going through my wardrobe and I found this dress my sister bought for me 2 years ago! I never wore it because lets just say at that point in my life, I wasn't too sure short gowns were flattering for me. Anyway, I wore the dress and went for the party and had a damn good time. Has anyone noticed how little children wind and gyrate at parties??? I had to say a prayer!

Too excited! lol

 All together it was a fun Saturday. There was food, drinks and good music. Couldn't have been better!

BRING ME SOME SUNSHINE !

So , the month of August is here and I must say i am not too happy about it .Yes I am not and  why? because it rains all through . I do not like the rains, I know how important it is for life and bla, bla bla... but I just do not like the rains. The only highlight to this season is the fact that I get to eat roasted corn and boiled ground nut which I love like madt! :)

It is so annoying that i have my day planned out and all of a sudden everything gets disrupted by the rain *angry face* ,or that I am out somewhere and the rain just starts to pour without giving a warning sign. Everywhere gets wet , muddy, cold and people fall ill a lot during this season. Forget umbrella's, the rain comes with a lot of  wind here in Abuja and except you have the "family sized typo umbrella", trust me you are as good as bare.

Yesterday I woke up to the sound of the rain, I was so angry. I mean , it could have waited till noon when I was back from church and settled in hissssssssssss.I attended the 3rd service in church, something I never do but had to because it wouldn't stop raining.
I spotted my cousin looking all pretty in yellow and her blouse reminded me of the sun which I so miss right now. All together, her outfit was elegant and pretty. I miss sunshine and cannot wait for November and the harmattan :)

Grecian

I fell in love with Grecian dresses when I first saw the video "LISTEN" by Beyonce- the soundtrack for the movie "Dream girls". That dress was so, so gorgeous and the hair was so complementing, it was the perfect pin up girl hairdo (every strand in place). She looked like a Greek goddess. Unfortunately I cannot seem to find a picture of her in that dress to share but I stumbled on quite a few that caught my fancy on the web. Enjoy!

It happened that i was the best lady to a good friend of mine this year.When it came to choosing what I would wear, I opted for a Grecian dress. I got this really nice brown one and I love it to pieces. It is not everytime you get to have a brides maid dress that you can totally rock after the wedding.This was a good value for my money and I can't wait to wear it again. What do you think?
